Notes:
2009: The former U-17 international found a rich vein of goal scoring form for West Brom's academy side, leading to a call up to the reserve team where he was just as prolific. Injuries to Albion front-liners gave Wood a surprise call up to a trip to Fratton Park to play Portsmouth. Wood came off the bench to become just the fifth kiwi to play in the Premiership, and his rapid rise was recognised by Ricki Herbert who fast-tracked the 17-year-old into his Confederations Cup squad for South Africa. Signed a two-year professional deal with freshly-relegated Albion in May 2009.

Notes:
2009: Finished the A-League season with 12 goals, winning the golden boot and Johnny Warren medal for A-League player of the year. His stunning game-winner against Melbourne in round 12 was also crowned goal of the year. Transferred to expansion A-League club Gold Coast United at the end of the 2008-09 season. Picked up both the New Zealand and OFC player of the year awards for 2008 at an April ceremony.
2008: Picked up where he left off at international level scoring twice in the 3-1 win over New Caledonia in Noumea as the All Whites clinched the Oceania Nations Cup with two games to spare qulaifying for both the 2009 Confederations Cup and a home and away World Cup playoff against an Asian nation. then scored twice again in a 3-0 win in Auckland to equal Keith Nelson's 30 year old record of scoring in six consecutive internationals. Was rested for the dead rubber against Fiji, missingo out on the chance to claim the record outright. Was named OFC player of 2007.
2007: Smeltz caught the imagination of the British press with his memorable double in the 2-2 draw against Wales on May 26 - not long after being released by Nationwide Conference team Halifax Town. Played the full 90 against both Costa Rica and Venezuela but given few opportunities in the 4-0 and 5-0 losses respectively. Returned home in 2007 to link up with the Wellington Phoenix for their innaugral season. Began World Cup qualifying with a goal against Fiji in Lautoka, scored the equaliser against Vanuatu in a hard-fought 2-1 win in Port Vila then netted twice in the 4-1 win over Vanuatu in Wellington. Named Nike Player of the Year for 2007.2006: Smeltz broke his international goal-scoring duck with a well-taken goal in his 11th international against Chile in April 26. The end of season international retirement of record All Whites goalscorer Vaughan Coveny has given Smeltz the chance to grab a starting place in New Zealand’s strikeforce alongside Chris Killen.

Notes:
2008: Scored his first international goal (a 16th minute close-range stab) in a 3-1 win over New Caledonia in Noumea. The win sealed the 2008 Oceania Nations Cup title for the All Whites. Sigmund's international form and his leadership qualities were rewarded with the All Whites captaincy for the final qualifier against Fiji, where Ricki Herbert named a purely domestic based squad for the dead rubber. One of only two players to feature in all six of New Zealand's World Cup qualifiers in 2007 and 2008. Was named the NZFC player of 2007-08.
2007: Ben Sigmund was recalled to the All Whites for the 2-2 draw against Wales in late May after almost seven years in football’s international wilderness. The then 26-year-old central defender, whose only previous appearance was as a late substitute against Oman at the 2000 Merdeka Tournament in Kuala Lumpur, is currently chasing an A-League contract with the Fawkner Blues in the Victorian State League. Voted player and players’ player of the year after helping Auckland City capture their third NZFC title in April after a dream appearance at the FIFA Club World Cup in December 2006.

2008: Waikato FC's captain lead the NZ U-23s through an unbeatan Olympic Qualifying campiagn as the Oly-Whites reached the Olympic Games for the first time. Played all three games in China but gave the arm-band to overage Blackburn Rovers defender Ryan Nelsen for New Zealand's first two games. Transferred to Waitakere United for the start of the 2008-09 NZFC season. Called up for a domesticcally-sourced All Whites team for a dead rubber World Cup qualifer against Fiji but didn't take the field.

Notes:
2008: Played just once for the All Whites in 2008, sharing the starting duties against New Caledonia with Glen Moss before being rested for the final dead-rubber against Fiji. At club level, and injury to Moss gave Paston a run between the sticks before injury in turn cost Paston his place.
2007: The former Bradford City, Walsall and St Johnstone stopper has signed on for the Knights A-League successors the Wellington Phoenix. Pulled off two memorable saves in the 2-2 draw with Wales, a relief after being forced to pick the ball out of his own net nine times in a combined 180 minutes against Costa Rica and Venezuela in March. While Glen Moss was preferred at club level, Paston continued in the number one jersey at international level, startting all three World Cup qualfiers at the end of 2007.2006: Paston sealed his position as the All Whites No 1 with a series of increasingly impressive performances for the now defunct New Zealand Knights in last season’s Hyundai A-League. Missed all but two of the All Whites 11 matches in 2006 due to injury.

Notes:
2009: Overlooked for a pair of All Whites games in Thailand. Trialled with Scottish Premier League club Kilmarnock and landed a three-year deal.
2008: Old was released by the Phoenix and bided his time for Australian state league club Macarthur Rams, keeping match-fit for New Zealand's Olympic debut in Beijing. Started against China but picked up two yellow cards to leave the Oly-Whites a man down for the second half. Returned for the final group match against Belgium. Came off teh bench in the home international against New Caledonia and made the staring line-up as a domestic based All Whites squad travelled to Fiji for a dead-rubber qualifier.
2007: Old was relegated to the bench for the 2-2 draw against Wales after playing all 180 minutes on the ill-fated tour of the Americas in March when New Zealand were beaten 4-0 and 5-0 to Costa Rica and Venezuela. Will be looking to reassert himself for the Phoenix.
2006: Old has been a long-term development project for All Whites and now Phoenix coach Ricki Herbert who has just signed the defender at Wellington’s new A-League club. Scored the winner in a 1-0 win over Malaysia in February 2006 and more than held his own against then World Cup favourites Brazil in Geneva last August.

Notes:
2009: Scored twice in a 2-2 draw with Thailand 'A' in Bangkok. Netted his first-ever goal for Blackburn in a 2-0 win over Wigan that lifted the Lancashire club six points clear of the relegation zone with four games left in the season.
2008: Nelsen was selected as one of three over-age players in the Oly-Whites squad for the Beijing Olympics. Captained the side in an opening 1-1 draw with China and a 0-5 loss to Brazil but had to return to England for Blackburn's opening game of the 2008-09 FA Premiership season. Made his first appearance for the All Whites in four years when returning to captain new Zealand in two World Cup qualifiers against New Caledonia.
2007: Nelsen returned from a rare hamstring injury which required special surgery in Finland to enjoy a successful end to the 2006-07 English season, making 12 premiership, five FA Cup and two Uefa Cup appearances after Christmas. Became Blackburn's regular captain and helped Mark Hughes' side reach their second FA Cup final in three seasons only to be left heartbroken again when Blackburn were pipped in extra time by eventual winners Chelsea.
2006: Offered a new three-year-deal by Blackburn Rovers after his impressive first season for the Ewood Park club, injury kept Nelsen off the park for the pre-Christmas part of the 2006-07 English premiership season and out of New Zealand's pre-World Cup match against Brazil and the end-of-season club tour in England and Spain, including the 5-0 loss to Blackburn.
2005: Signed an initial 18-month deal with English premier leaguers Blackburn Rovers after twice being nominated for the MLS All-Star team following a decorated career for (Washington) DC United. Made 15 premiership and four FA Cup appearances for Blackburn, helping the Ewood Park club to the semifinals of the FA Cup where they were beaten by Arsenal 3-0.

2008: Joined Port Vale in January 2008 on a free transfer. In July, Mulligan signed a two-year deal with Wellington Phoenix.
2007: Club commitments kept Mulligan out of the 4-0 loss to Costa Rica but Mulligan played the full 90 int he 5-0 loss to Venezuela. Unavailable for the 2-2 draw in Wales after helping Scunthorpe United clinch promotion to the English Championship. Left on the bench for a World Cup qualifier against Vanutau in Port Vila but responded by scoring an injury-time winner (his first international goal) in a crucial 2-1 victory. Four days later, Mulligan scored twice against the same opposition in Wellington in a 4-1 win.
2006: David Mulligan has quickly established himself as a regular All Whites starter, either in central midfield or as an attack-minded fullback. The former Barnsley and Doncaster Rovers player, a dead ball specialist, has helped Scunthorpe United capture the English League One title and promotion to the Championship for the next northern hemisphere season.

2008: Returned to the All Whites starting lineup for a World Cup qualifier against New Caledonia in Noumea but rotated to the bench a few days later against teh same opposition in Auckland. Back in the number one jersey for a dead rubber against Fiji, but was sent off in the second half, and subsequently banned for the next four World Cup matches. Moss will miss both legs of the World Cup playoff and the New Zealand's first two matches of either the 2010 World Cup or 2014 World Cup Qualifying.
2007: Moss has been a bench-warmer in 2007 against Costa Rica and Wales but was ruled out of the match against Venezuela due to injury. Overlooked for New Zealand's first three World Cup qualifiers but pulled ahead in the race to be number one at club level.
2006: The All Whites’ second choice No 1 gave the world a glimpse of his undoubted ability with a series of stunning saves against Brazil in Geneva just before the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany. The performance earned Moss man of the match honours, a 10,000 Swiss Franc Rolex and a four-year contract with Romanian giants Dinamo Bucuresti. Moss has since joined Paston at the Phoenix in a move that will only add intrigue to the battle to be No 1 for club and country.

2008: Lochhead earned a brief trial with Premiership club Middlesboro in August returned to the Phoenix unable to land a contract.
2007: Lochhead was given his chance to seal a starting spot for club and country against Wales in late May. The 25-year-old, who was barely recognisable when he turned up for the All Whites tour of the Americas in March minus is trademark curls, has signed a two year A-League deal with the Herbert-coached Wellington Phoenix after making 16 MLS appearances for the New England Revolution in the US in 2006. Played the full 90 against Wales after being substituted in both of the losses to Costa Rica and Venezuela in March.
2006: Club committments for MLS side New England Revolution limited Lochhead's international availability. Played both matches against Chile in April before making the end of season club tour of England and Spain where he played in the 1-1 draw against English premier leaguers Charlton Athletic and the 5-1 loss to Uefa Cup holders FC Sevilla.

2009: Joined Norwich City on loan but returned to Glasgow after making just four appearances from the bench for the Canaries. Travelled to Bangkok with the All Whites but missed the games against Thailand and Thailand 'A' with a calf injury.
2008: Selected as one of three overage players in the New Zealand U-23 squad for the Beijing Olympics. An operation on an Archilles injury ruled Killen out of home and away FIFA World Cup qualifers against New Caledonia.
2007: Injury has kept Killen out of New Zealand's tours of the Americas and Wales but not the headlines with the Wellington-born marksman signing a lucrative three-year deal with Glasgow giants Celtic in late May. Partnered Shane Smeltz in attack for a World Cup qualifier against Fiji, but an Archilles strain meant Killen was an eleventh-hour withdrawl from home an away qualifiers against Vanuatu.
2006: With 15 goals in 26 internationals, Killen is on target to overhaul the recently retired Vaughan Coveny (30 goals in 75 internationals) as New Zealand ’s leading all-time marksman. Briefly led the Scottish Premier League golden boot standings and eventually finished equal fourth with 13 goals despite not playing since January due to an Achilles tendon injury. Scored the middle goal in the All Whites’ historic 3-1 victory over Georgia in Germany in May 2006 – New Zealand ’s first win on international soil.

2006: Chris James proved the find of 2006 for New Zealand Football. The Kiwi-born, England age-group international enjoyed a dream debut for the All Whites when he came on as a substitute against Brazil just days after receiving his international clearance last June. A skilful midfield playmaker, James went on to score from the penalty spot against Uefa Cup holders FC Sevilla before guiding New Zealand to the forthcoming FIFA U-20 Men’s World Cup in Canada.

2008: Scored the winner in the Wellington Phoenix's first win of their second season. Suspended for an away World Cup qualifier against New Caledonia and with Ryan Nelsen back after a four-year absence, Brown relinquished the captaincy to the Blackburn Rovers skipper but retains a leadership role in the team as vice-captain.
2007: Brown was handed the captain's arm-band for the credible 2-2 draw in Wales in late May due to the unavailability of incumbent Danny Hay, shortly after successfully gaining a release from Newcastle to sign for Ricki Herbert's Wellington Phoenix. Subbed off with five minutes remaining in the 4-0 loss to Costa Rica, Brown remained on the bench for the 5-0 loss to Venezuela later in March. But given the responsibility of leading his country for the first time against Wales, Brown responded in Wrexham with a whole-hearted effort and supplied the ball for Shane Smeltz's second goal. Released by Newcastle Jets, Brown was on board as a foundation member of the Wellington Phoenix. Retained the All Whites captaincy for the beginning of World Cup qualification but was sent off against Vanuatu in Wellington.
2006: Seen as a future All Whites captain, Tim Brown has played all but three of the 14 national team matches since Ricki Herbert took charge in 2005. Was a standout in the 1-1 draw at English premier leaguers Charlton Athletic in August 2006, a performance that eventually led to an A-League contract with the Newcastle Jets in Australia .

Notes:
2009: Will line up for the North Queensland Fury in their debut A-League season in 2009-10.
2008: A return to the NZFC with Hawke's Bay United in 07-08 helped Brockie rediscover his form, which he carried into New Zealand's Olympic campaign. A stunning solo effort against Australia in the pre-Olympic build-up was matched by a blistering strike for a ten-man Oly-Whites against Olympic hosts China in an opening 1-1 draw. Recalled to the All Whites for qualifers against New Caledonia, starting in the 3-1 win in Noumea.
2007: With the FIFA U-20 Men’s World Cup to look forward to in June-July, 2007 shapes as a defining year for the recently de-dreadlocked teenager. Used as a sub against both Costa Rica and Venezuela in March, Brockie remained on the bench in a 2-2 draw against Wales.
2006: A front-runner blessed with pace, Brockie burst onto the scene with a series of eye-catching A-League performances for the New Zealand Knights two seasons ago. That form earned the Cantabrian a contract at Sydney FC but Brockie spent much of the past A-League season on the bench and has since been released.

2008: The Norwegian based striker follwoed in his All White father Dave's footsteps when making his debut as a 68th minute substitute for fellow debutantn Costa Barbarouses.

Notes:
2008: Released by Toronto but went on trial at New York Red Bulls and was quicklty picked up for the 2008 season. With teh return of Ryan Nelsen to the All Whites mix, Boyens found himself down in the pecking order with Nelsen and Ben Sigmund preferred startes for matches against New Caledonia.
2007: Boyen's made the most of his call-up for the shortened European tour with an eye-catching performance alongside Ben Sigmund (the pair had little more than 10 minutes of international experience between them before the Wrexham fixture) in the 2-2 draw with Wales on May 26. Started all three of NZ's World Cup qualifiers in 2007.
2006: Boyens cashed in on a decorated collegiate career in the US with the University of New Mexico when the All-American was recently drafted by MLS expansion franchise Toronto FC. The 23-year-old central defender, seen as a bright prospect, made his All Whites debut – and until now only international appearance - against Uefa Cup holders FC Sevilla in Spain last August.

Notes:
2008: Wellington-born Bertos returned home to link up with the Phoenix, who he joined on a two-year deal. Included in the squad for home and away qualifiers against New Caledonia but not used because of injury.
2007: Bertos played the full 90 in the 4-0 loss to Costa Rica in March but has been subbed around the hour mark in his last two internationals against Venezuela and Wales. On international duty, Bertos was at his creative best, playing a hand in five of the six goals the All Whites scored against Vanuatu home and away in November.
2006: After spells at York City , Chester City , Rochdale, Barnsley and Scarborough , Bertos found his feet at Perth Glory to prove something of an A-League revelation last season. Always willing to run at opponents and a useful crosser and dead-ball deliverer, all that is missing from the 26-year-old’s game is goals.

2007: Barron played the full 90 in New Zealand's 5-0 loss to Venezuela in Maraciabo and was a 59th minute substitute for Jeremy Christie in the 2-2 draw with Wales.2006: One of the few players drawn from the domestic New Zealand Football Championship (NZFC), Barron is a work-aholic midfielder who forced his way into New Zealand’s World Cup calculations after a memorable rookie year for the All Whites in 2006. Scored a late winner in just his second match to seal a 2-0 series victory over Malaysia in February 2006.

Notes:
2009: Made headlines by scoring for Team Wellington with a free kick beyond the halfway line in the penultimate round of NZFC action.
2007: Bannatyne made a mercy dash to Maraciabo as injury cover for the injured Glen Moss but did not get on the pitch in New Zealand's 5-0 loss to Venezuela. Not selected for the match in Wales. Called up as back-up for Mark Paston in a wOwrld Cup qualifer against Fiji with Phoenix keeper Glen Moss overlooked.
2006: Recalled for the end of season club tour of England and Spain after a four year stint in football's international wilderness, Bannatyne was unlucky to find Uefa Cup holders FC Sevilla in irresistable form as New Zealand were thumped 5-1. The match was Bannatyne's fifth international, four years after he secured his fourth cap as a 57th minute substitute in the shock 1-0 win over Australia in the 2002 Oceania Nations Cup final in Auckland.
